We can certainly buy that this is dead-on real, since... well, it looks real, and also because the X1's also available in both shades. We're still not convinced it outshines its predecessor for sheer sex appeal, but an 8.1 megapixel camera upgrade is hard to argue with, isn't it?

[ via MobileRead Forums] Press Release: iRex Technologies Developing a High Quality, Full Color Digital Reader. Eindhoven, 2 June 2009 ‐ The world’s leading provider of e‐reading solutions, Netherlands‐based iRex Technologies ( www.irextechnologies.com ), announced new progress on development of a next generation of color, writable ultra‐thin digital readers expected to launch mid 2011. This news reaffirms and substantiates iRex’s position as a leading innovator in the digital reading market following their 2008 launch of the iRex DR1000. Leading the way for others, the DR1000 was the first commercially available ‘writable’ digital reader with a 10.2 inch screen. Speaking at the Society for Information Display (SID) conference in San Antonio, TX (USA), iRex’s leading display expert Alex Henzen, confirmed the company’s commitment to push the boundaries of electrophoretic display technology in order to meet consumer demand for competitively priced, high quality digital readers. “The ultimate goal of an electronic paper display is to mimic the appearance of pigment on paper. This means more than just bright color, the reflection also has to be diffuse,“ explained Henzen. “iRex’s subtractive color mixing technology will allow us to produce a wide range of colors in high resolution to deliver magazine‐quality color to our e‐reader customers.

Bing, for those who took a long weekend, is Microsoft’s new search engine ; a reincarnation of Microsoft Live Search that is infinitely more usable. Since its launch yesterday in preview form, Bing has definitely received a fair amount of acclaim from around the blogosphere and preliminary user feedback is pretty positive as well. In the short time we’ve tested the site so far, Bing mobile is no different.

If you head over to m.bing.com on your handheld, you'll find yourself on a lite version of this Bing's titan service. So does this compete with the Google's mobile service? Not just yet, and it seems that Microsoft has omitted all those fancy features that has made Bing a near-overnight success.

Our Finnish friends have high hopes for this pricey little piece of kit, which will be Nokia’s first Nseries to sport a touchscreen along with the S60 5th Edition OS. As for the NAM edition, it’s now looking like that rumor of pre-orders shipping in early June might just pan out — we’ve received a few tips from people who have pre-ordered the handset from Amazon and they’ve apparently received emails stating the handset will ship the week of June 15th. It stands to reason of course, that units will begin shipping directly Nokia before then or at least by that week.
