Ashton Kutcher Threatens to Stop Tweeting Over Twitter TV
“It’s all fun and games until somebody gets stalked.” That’s the last message posted to Twitter by its most followed user – Ashton Kutcher, aka @aplusk – nearly 24 hours ago. What the actor is referring to is the “ Twitter TV Show ” that really isn’t, and the implications it might have for the service. In case you missed it, on Monday it was reported that Twitter and a production company were working on a television show that “harness[es] Twitter to put players on the trail of celebrities.” Twitter quickly downplayed this, saying there is no official TV show , but confirmed that the company had indeed signed a deal with Reveille and Brillstein. The funny thing about all of this is that a deal seemingly wouldn’t even be necessary – Twitter is a platform, and anyone could produce a show utilizing it as part of the plot.
